The Moonlight Chase is Eastern Iowa's most unique road race. The fun run is held on the streets of Eldridge with the entire 4-mile course lined with luminaries. The evening includes 1/4 mile and 1-mile runs for kids, as well as the 4-mile competition. The Moonlight Chase is the pinnacle event to the Eldridge Festival.
It
is electrifying to watch the streets come alive, as the sun goes down, and
the community comes out for a small-town Iowa festival. Literally thousands
come out to take part in the Chase. The Moonlight Chase is not only one of
the best runs to run in, but also one of the best as a spectator. The community
shows its stuff with decorations and music and cheers along the entire course.
After
the race, stick around for a great party! Dance to great music and enjoy
refreshments under the stars. Join us July 13, 2013 and find out what makes the
Moonlight Chase so special. All proceeds from the Moonlight Chase go to support
local civic projects. 2,109 runners helped raise over $14,500 during last year's
run. Race proceeds support local organizations like the Scott County Library
System, the Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department, Long Grove Fire Department, North Scott
Post Prom, Recipe for a Hometown Holiday, and the list goes on…
